Our Team.
We are a small team that have been established for 20 years delivering early learning childcare accredited qualifications and training throughout Scotland - previously as HiMATS and now as LTQ.

Sandra Tucker
Internal Verifier
I have worked as an SVQ assessor, internal verifier, and external verifier for more years than I care to remember! But I am still passionate about supporting the delivery of quality childcare training.
In my spare time I enjoy holidaying abroad, walking, golf, bowling, and spending time with my twin grandchildren.

Iona Canham
Assessor & Internal Verifier
I graduated university in 2010 with a degree in Child and Youth Studies, and have been in my role at LTQ for 7 years.
As well as this I am also a partner of an ecological company that carry out wildlife surveys, and I am a Nature Scot Bat Licence Worker spending my summer nights protecting bats and their roosting sites.
Outside of work I enjoy walking my dog, and going out on my boat as I have a skipper license.

Debbie Parker-Banfield
Company Owner, Assessor & IV
I have a BA degree in Childhood Practice and have worked in childcare for 25 + years. I have been centre manager in my current nursery for 20 years, and alongside this I have worked in delivering training and qualifications in childcare across Scotland, previously with HiMATS which has now evolved into LTQ.
Outside of work I am a busy mum to my 3 children, I have horses I look after, and I enjoy walking my dog and going on holiday with my husband.

Fran Polson
Assessor & Internal Verifier
I have worked in the childcare sector for over 30 years in various roles. I have worked alongside the other members of LTQ for a number of years now and very much like being part of this team.
As my children are all grown up and moved away now, I am finding more time to spend in the outdoors with my husband, hiking and cycling. We also enjoy going away in our campervan on road trips, discovering new places both in the UK and Europe.

Rachael Sellers
Administrator
I graduated university in 2023 with a BSc Hons degree in Physiology and have been working full time with LTQ since. I discovered a love for education and helping young people, so I am currently doing a PGDE in secondary teaching to become a biology teacher in 2025, whilst continuing to work for LTQ.
In my spare time I like spending time with my boyfriend and friends, running, reading, going to concerts and travelling.
We currently have students in centres across the Highlands and Islands of Scotland including Les Enfants, Stramash, Tiny Tots, Little Staggies, Cradlehall, Gordonstoun, & RAF Lossiemouth Childcare Centre.
