Social SERVICES CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

LTQ delivers a level 3 Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Social Services Children and Young People at SCQF level 7.

Course Content

The course is made up of eight units - four mandatory and four optional.

There are 40+ optional units to choose from so you can select units that apply more directly to your role (early years, education, residential, childminding).

Mandatory

Promote effective communication
Promote health, safety, & security in the work setting
Develop your practice through reflection and learning
Promote the safeguarding of children and young people

Optional

Some of the optional units we offer are:

Support the use of medication for children
Develop productive working relationships with others
Implement positive environments for babies and children
Work with children and young people with additional requirements to address their developmental needs
Implement frameworks for early education through the development of curriculum planning
Manage a small scale childcare business
Promote the health and physical development of children

Course Delivery

LTQ provides flexible course delivery to fit around working life.

Students have an assigned assessor and have regular scheduled meetings and reviews, as well as 24/7 contact available through WhatsApp.

Work is uploaded onto an online portfolio via the learning assist platform which enables learning across Scotland.

All individual learning styles are accommodated for, and further support can be given when required.
